The Loop Fantasy Football Report Week 7: Help! The Loop needs a quarterback!
Published Sat, 23 Nov 2024 08:04:26 GMT
There are few moments more painful in fantasy football than when teams employing a one-quarterback strategy watch their quarterback go down.Such a tragedy struck The Loop last week when our solo QB, Chicago’s Justin Fields, dislocated his thumb against the Vikings. It was the latest setback of Fields’ hot-cold season, knocking him out for this week and some time beyond. It left our roster QB-free. And if you think there are a bunch of replacement options as we head into Week 7, you’d be mistaken. This is the biggest bye week of the year, with the Bengals, Cowboys, Titans, Jets, Panthers and Texans idle. So lots of fantasy mavens will be desperate for a quarterback, and the pickings are mighty slim. In our league, this would be the less-than-magnificent seven best options for a quick QB replacement for this week:Geno Smith (Seahawks vs. Cardinals) – Clearly The Loop’s best option. Though the veteran has only five TD passes in five games, he is averaging about 234 yards per game. And he...Vikings place pass rusher Marcus Davenport on injured reserve

You could tell it was bad by the way pass rusher Marcus Davenport hopped off the natural grass at Soldier Field over the weekend. With the Vikings playing the Chicago Bears on the road, Davenport suffered an ankle injury, and ultimately had to be carted to the locker room. After going through the evaluation process, the Vikings officially placed Davenport on injured reserve on Wednesday morning, ensuring he will miss at least a month as he works his way back to full strength. This is the latest setback for Davenport after he missed a couple of games earlier this season with an ankle injury. He was starting to come into his own opposite pass rusher Danielle Hunter. In a corresponding move, the Vikings activated running back Kene Nwangwu to the 53-man roster. He hasn’t played this season after suffering a back injury in training camp.Related ArticlesMinnesota Vikings | Vikings’ Danielle Hunter leads NFL in sacks, even as trade rumors swirl Minnesota Vikings | ...Volleyball team's bus catches fire after crash on I-84
